Forest Bathing

“Deep in the Forest I stroll…To hear the Wisdom of my Soul.”- Anonymous

This is Forest Bathing… “A gentle, meditative approach to being in Nature and an anti-dote to our nature-starved lives that can heal our relationship with the more-than-human world.”

– M. Amos Clifford

Your Guides: Laura spent her childhood summers camping and hiking in the old forests of Minong, Wisconsin where pine trees grow as far and tall as the eyes can see. These childhood summers nurtured her love for the outdoors and connection to nature. Her education and cultivated background in
Yoga, herbal medicine and natural wellness, led her to study and obtain a Masters degree and license in Chinese Medicine, which is entirely based on the laws, cycles, and rhythms of Nature.

Laura has always found that time spent in Nature equals greater health and happiness. A life-long learner, her passion for a deeper nature connection led her to the Wilderness Awareness School in Duvall, WA where she was taught among other things, how to hone awareness skills in the outdoors. She has since spent time outside of her office being an outdoor instructor for the Young Naturalist Homeschool program at Ancestral Knowledge, guiding children through Nature Based learning and Coyote Mentoring.

Laura is so happy to share her mentoring and nature based skill set to help foster that wild, playful, and intrinsically connected nature within us all. Initiating deep nature connection and fostering respect, confidence and knowledge in the wild that surrounds us and is a part of us is a great passion for Laura and she loves to share this sacred part of existence with humans of all ages. Laura is First Aid Certified.

Joshuah grew up in a little town in Pennsylvania with cornfields and cows. Yet, his heart was in the mountains. He spent his free time avoiding rattlesnakes and swimming in ponds with newts on Catawissa Mountain. After high school, he had an itch to travel and enlisted in the US Navy (USN 2003-2016). When his military service was complete, he reawakened his childhood wonder on the Appalachian Trail. Reflecting on the transformational journey he pursued higher education leading to a degree in Experiential and Outdoor Education at Western Carolina University (MS 2023). He is a certified Wilderness First Responder and a program facilitator of Leave No Trace, Project WILD, and Growing Up WILD.

Over the last 5 years, he has focused on cultivating nature connection by building a foundation of awareness in ecology, community, and self. Josh works as a Fish and Wildlife Ranger and leads trips for Appalachian Expeditions.

He has instructed adventure sports and team building with Calleva and Brenton Woods. Furthermore, he has led Wood Wise Camps with Ancestral Knowledge. From wilderness skills to community building Joshuah’s excitement is contagious.
